Application Information for the Yahel Social Change Fellowship

We're really excited to hear that you're interested in the Yahel Social Change Fellowship! Before submitting your application, schedule an informational call with our Recruitment Coordinator to learn more about the fellowship and find out if this program is right for you.
Step 2 | Send In Your Completed Fellowship Application
All Applicants must submit the following:

Personal information: Complete a personal information form with general health questions.

​Tell us about a time when you were a member of a cohort or community. Describe challenging and/or rewarding aspects of your experience in this group.​​

Describe a moment in your life where your Jewish background/religion was particularly meaningful to you.

Describe why you are applying to be a Yahel Social Change Fellow. What are you bringing to this experience? What do you hope to walk away with on a personal level?

How do you currently relate to Israel? What has influenced your relationship with Israel? How do you see this fellowship complementing or challenging this relationship?

Professional References: Have someone who is familiar with your academic or professional work submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf (2 professional references are required). Recommenders will receive a unique URL where they can submit their letters.

We are accepting applications on a rolling basis until all spots are filled.
Step 3 | Interview & Alumni Conversation
After submitting your application, you'll be connected to our Executive Director, Dana Talmi, for an interview. After your interview, you'll be connected to a Yahel Alumni for a second conversation.
Step 4 | Application Decision and Onboarding
If accepted into the Fellowship, you will begin the onboarding process into becoming a Yahel fellow:

Paying the program fee of $1,000

If eligible, apply for Masa Scholarship

If ineligible for the Masa Scholarship, you can apply to the Nicholas Cleve's Scholarship (limited scholarships available)

Completing onboarding forms including a physical form (to be completed by a physician) and a mental health form​

A clear background check is required to join the fellowship

Prior to your arrival, you will join your cohort online for pre-program webinars to get to know each other and the fellowship.
Application Fee
The application fee will be fully refunded if you are not accepted to the fellowship. If you are accepted and choose to participate, the fee will be applied to your tuition. If you are accepted to the fellowship and choose not to participate, the fee is nonrefundable. You will be prompted to submit your application payment at the end of the fellowship application.
