What is Onward Israel?

 

Onward Israel, now directly partnered with Birthright Israel, is a professional development internship and volunteer program provider that places Jewish young adults (typically college students and recent graduates) in 2-10 week internship and volunteer programs in Israel. The programs combine work experience and volunteer work with cultural immersion, including Hebrew language courses, educational seminars about Israeli society, and organized trips throughout the country. During Onward Israel programs, participants live independently in Israeli cities, primarily engaging in Internship or volunteer programs in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, while working in fields ranging from tech startups to non-profits, gaining both professional experience and deeper connection to Israel.

Yahel's Theme-Based Onward Israel Volunteer Program

Israel Onward theme-based Israel volunteer programs are designed for participants eager to work and explore Israel through a topical lens. These volunteer programs are tailored to young adults with the desire to see the Jewish state from a different perspective alongside their peers.

 

The Community Impact trip offers summer participants the chance to live, learn and contribute in hands-on and meaningful ways to Israel during this critical time. You will work in different community impact settings while learning new skills and connecting to Israelis in the social sector. The Tel Aviv based program features day trips, overnights and hands-on seminars designed to bolster participants’ understanding of Israeli life and to learn about social change initiatives in the country. If you are interesting in education, public health, social work, conflict management, nonprofit work or similar topics related to community impact work- this is the program for you.

• If accepted, receive an official acceptance email and pay $50 USD registration fee (non-refundable)

• Upload additional documents (e.g. passport, medical form)

• Book your flight & purchase travel insurance

• Pay $250 USD security deposit (refundable at program’s end)

• Pack your bags to come volunteer in Israel!
