Sample Week Itinerary

Sunday

Morning

Zevulun Elementary School - Fellows serve as teaching assistants in English as a Foreign Language classes, working with children in 4th - 6th grade. 

Afternoon

Moadonit - Fellows create and implement informal English activities, assist with homework and build strong bonds with children in 1st - 4th grade from families supported by the Department of Welfare.

Evening

Homework @ Home - Fellows provide culturally appropriate tutoring and mentoring to children in the child's home. 

Tuesday

Morning

Monday

Morning

The Israel Center for Educational Innovation - a nonprofit that works to improve elementary school instruction and turn around underperforming low-income elementary schools. Fellows assist with resource development and media related efforts.

Late Afternoon

Center for Youth at Risk - Fellows work with local volunteers and staff to plan recreational activities for middle and high school aged youth and help the center to organize community events.

Wednesday

All Day

Joint Learning Day (every other week) - Day trip to South Tel Aviv: Exploring the matter of refugees and asylum seekers in Israel.

 

City-based Supervision and Contextual Learning (every other week)  Community Work Workshop: learn about and practice community mapping as a tool for social change.

Thursday

Morning

Terminal After School Center- Fellows plan and implement creative projects for children in 4th - 6th grade.

Afternoon

Center for Youth at Risk - Fellows work with local volunteers and staff to plan recreational activities for middle and high school aged youth and help the center to organize community events.
